More about the Function Keys
More about the Pit Board

1 - Turbocharger knob
Determines turbo boost pressure. Press
L to move the knob up, K to move it down.

2 - Tachometer
Displays rpm currently produced by engine. Shifting should occur between 11,000 and 12,500 rpm; the master warning light will illuminate at 13,000 rpm. Revving beyond 14,000 rpm for more than a moment will blow the engine.

3 - Anti-roll bar & brake bias indicators
Displays current status of (from top to bottom) front anti-roll bars, rear anti-roll bars, and brake bias. Anti-roll bars range from fully soft (all the way to the left) to fully stiff (all the way to the right); brake bias ranges from full rear-end bias (all the way to the left) to full front-end bias (all the way to the right). Adjust front anti-roll bars with
+ (stiffen) and - (soften); adjust rear anti-roll bars with ] (stiffen) and [ (soften); adjust brake bias with ' (forward) and ; (rearward).

4 - Master warning light
Blinks when fuel is low (under 5 gallons), when water temperature is excessively high (above 220° F), or when over-revving the engine (beyond 13,000 rpm).

5 - Transmission status
Displays your current gear (1 through 6).

6 - Fuel gauge
Displays the number of gallons of fuel remaining in the tank (in U.S. gallons). The car can carry a maximum 40 gallons. When fewer than 5 gallons remain in the tank, the word "Fuel" will blink, and the master warning light will illuminate.

7 - Lap time indicator
Displays the current lap time. As the car crosses the start/finish line, the indicator will display that lap's elapsed time (and will remain static for a moment to give you time to read it).

8 - Speedometer
Displays your current speed (in mph).

9 - Multi-function display
The default display is speed (identical to "8" above). Pressing
D once displays rpm (x10); pressing it a second time displays the estimated number of laps of fuel remaining; pressing it a third time returns to the speed display.

10 - Turbo boost pressure
Indicates how much boost pressure the turbocharger is currently generating. Maximum allowable boost pressure in the sim is 45 in/Hg (22 psi).

11 - Water temperature
Displays current temperature of engine coolant (in degrees Fahrenheit). Beyond 220° F, the word "Water" will blink, and the master warning light will illuminate.
